New beginnings

05 October 2010

Hi all,

A new page at Absolute Adventures has begun, Trance-port!! We have decided to take on a new field that we feel has been forgotten by society :) We have started a transport service for festival-goers from Cape Town to outlying festivals and back again.
This is an amazing venture that we are all excited about and hope you are too. Please don’t be put off by the name if you not into the trance scene. The bus is there for all types of festivals including whale and wine festivals. The only stipulation is; if you climb aboard you have to have fun!!!
We are busy talking to various sponsors to get involved to set up a goody welcome bag to make the trip n party a lot more enjoyable. If you are a company who would like to get involved please feel free to email us, we are open to all suggestions no matter how ridiculous it may seem. Only rule is nothing sticky or that melts or chewing gum allowed in the bus!! other than that it’s all good to go.
We will be putting up all the festivals that we can find up on the site soon and if we leave one or two out and you are interested please feel free to just ask or let us know about them.

See you out there.

The Suny Windy City

Sept 25, 2010

Hello guys n Gals,

As you can see from the intro title Cape Town is having its gusty windy time of the year. This is not an issue at all but does lend itself towards certain sports more than others. This is the time where skydiving and paragliding take a back seat but rather are replaced by Kite boarding, blowkarting and learning to surf. We have been having some of the best swells in Cape Town and up the coast for quite some time and it is the perfect time to get out onto the ocean. The part of the Cape I love the most is that there is never a dull quiet time with nothing to do. When one door closes another simply opens. That is why I have decided to set up the business I have to show you all the different possibilities that lay in my beautiful city and also in my beautiful country and our surrounding borders. So if you are sitting reading this going "I wish I had something to do!!!" please take this moment to slap yourself and get out there and book something. You can start safe and move up the crazy ranks if you so choose or you can just go straight to crazy :)

October is the month of festivals again. I know I’m not supposed to be biased but alas it is the time of my favourite local festival.....Rocking the Daisies(Oct 8.9.10). This is the one festival (I feel) that covers all the different style and genres of music and entertainment to bring all walks of life together in an awesome setting. It is the one place you know you are going to meet stacks of friends that you haven’t spoken to in a while and do the drunkard catch up session. That said the venue is perfect for all types of lifestyle being set on the Cloof Wine Estate which offers rolling meadows and a perfect dam just off the main dance floor which is the perfect cool off spot. So don’t forget your costumes and inflatable’s!!

I must run as the ocean is calling my name but I will be back soon to give you the lowdown.

Spring has sprung and the earth has danced

20 Sept 2010

Greetings one and all!!

Yes I know it has been far too long since I scribbled my last blog. There are a thousand excuses but no real reason when you look at life properly so I will just apologise and change my ways. What made you change your mind and get into the swing of writing I hear you cry and well ladies and gents - spring. Yip the amazing grandeur of long sunny days and slight cool breezes blowing through. It is just the best time of the year in The Fair Cape aka Cape Town, South Africa.

Cape Town and all the Cape Townians have a habit of hibernating for the winter. Now that said we did have the World Cup soccer this winter so that really stirred things up, so we all took a massive dollop of chill after that. But many will do as I did and reawaken and ready to start the pre-summer with a bang.

My spring began by joining the good fellows out at a festival known as Earth Dance. It was my first full fledge trance party and it was, to say the least, one seriously amazing experience. I have been to the venue for a festival of a different sort earlier this year and it is one of my favourite in the cape area and I will definately be doing a few more this season. On that note I must bring up a first time festival, Trance Namibia, happening in Spitskoppe, Namibia from 1-5 April 2011, Crystal Nexus . I know it’s really early to start mentioning it but I have to bring it to your attention so you plan your trip properly and reserve that date early enough to guarantee you are there. It is a friend of mine organising it so I urge you to help her out because it is happening for an amazing reason.

As for the adventure side of things well my earth is your play ground!! I am planning an amazing trip down the Garden route to try all the new adventures I have been adding over the winter. Winter is amazing but it really has nothing on the sunshine. So I will dust off the hibernation caps and go on a mission to places yet undiscovered and take you all away for the journey one way or another.

Till we meet in person I wish you all strength and speed in all the crazy things you get up too!!  :)

Out and about

20 march 2010

Hello guys and gals,

This week is one of a different kind. It’s one where we hit the club for a crazy party. The reason we heading that way instead of the normal outdoor wild things is because it’s National Cleavage day here in the RS of A!! That’s exciting why I ask you say? And I am not answering that silly question!!! The better news is that this year there might even be two!! The reasoning behind this is that normally it falls on the first weekend of April but alas it’s Easter that weekend this year so we have moved it back by a week to the 26th of March. But not everybody knows this so the 2nd of April will also be celebrated. So ladies you have a second chance to get out there and have some fun. But that said it is also done for a serious cause and not some males childhood fantasy that has come to fruit. It is set up to make people aware of breast cancer and to show our support to those who have it. So I know I will be definitely out supporting as many as I can for this cause. The idea is just that of cleavage and not necessarily walking around topless so it applies to all and not just the extremists amongst us. So bring out the good clean fun and show our support to those in need of it.

Thursday we will be heading to club Hemisphere where our good friend Siv is helping us out on the guest list and the DJ's are going to be blowing away our minds with the wicked music and the views to die for. The club is on the 31st floor of the ABSA building in town central with views 360 degrees so even the Queen Mary 2 will be visible down in the harbour. So if you keen to join us and bring some friends please get hold of me and let’s make this party one to remember!!

On the outdoor note the seas are going to be flat and the wind ripping it up so surfing is out but kite-boarding is up big-time and lessons are a must. So please head over to our water sections and see what we can offer you and your pocket in the line of kite-boarding!! Remember a skill is something that is learnt and can never be taken away from you. So get out there and learn something new. If that scares you a little then wind wise try the blo-kart or something on dry land. Explore the site and find what suits you  Sealed

Extreme - Pro style

2 March 2010

Hello all!!

Thanks for all the support we are getting here at Absolute Adventures. I can see just how popular the AA letters really are :P Some might think its cheeky to put your company in the phone book under AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) but you would be surprising just how willing some people are to do crazy things after a drink or two...and that said what better way to sober a person up than to tie a bungi cord around their ankles and throw them off the highest bridge in the world? None I hear you cry! And you are most correct. I have had a few people come back up swearing never to drink again in their lives, it is usually hidden behind a "I swear I'm gonna kill you!!" but I know what they really mean. And they have usually cooled off by the time the rope is untied.

Speaking of jumping we have the massive hype of the Pro-x coming up this weekend. The Ultimate X at the waterfront set up a taste of what is to come but was a great day out on its own. The boys at Pro-X have rented out the west coast show ranch and setting it up for a spectacular weekend out. They have planned a weekend of jumping, kicking and waking of new proportions. They have organised a few of the best local bands to come entertain the people till 2am to finish off Sat night with a bang and set up the mood for Sundays finals. I am definitely gonna be there and in the front row screaming my head off for the guys going crazy.

The site is growing like mad and I have advertising space on both the home page and the Whats-on section. If you are interested in either or both please don’t hesitate to shout and we can chat.

With the great weather around and winter fast approaching I recommend a trip to a river and some time paddling off the summer storage :)

But have fun no matter what you do and please spread the word about an Absolute Adventure you just read about :)
