Wind sand and still no sunnies

Hi guys!

As you can see, the growth of the site has been phenominal! I would like to say a big thank you to all those getting involved and it will just keep growing. Same rules apply as before: if you know someone who does awesomely awesome adventure stuff, please send them my details or theirs to me. I follow up on all leads. My job is to make your South African experience the best that there is in our beautiful land. That said, I have been focusing on the Cape simply and purely because I live here and know the goings on. Therefore, if you live some place else, even EL, and cool things are happening, please let me know!

I have to give a big thank you to Mark at Blo-Kart. He took myself and my old man out to Melkbos beach (can be done in Sunset beach in Muizenberg) in gale force winds and told us to go play. As daunting as it seems to jump into a kart built for speed with no previous experience and winds of 50 km/h, we did it and it was very cool!!! And yes, we did have a few tumbles but it made the experience that much more enjoyable. It made me appreciate the time I was flying down the beach at Xkm/h and trying to remember what Mark said about stopping the thing with no breaks (oh thats right! You just push that there, twist this release, and do this and voila, a 10 metre power slide down the beach to a halt). Can you say VERY awesome :)  So yes, a big thank you to the guys. And once again I didn't bring sunglasses so I got a bit of an eye full. I can hear you saying now "Will someone please just give this guy some sunnies already!!!" and I couldn't agree more :)

So keep the stoke and having fun. I'll be back shortly to update you on all the happenings.

Ski and sand

Hi all,

Absolute Adventures is finally getting to places it should have been months ago! A beginning :)

I have to start by saying a big thank you to the guys from AfriQuad. They took me out to the Atlantis dunes up the west coast to play on the dunes with some awesome quad bikes!! The guys are super professional and, with a steady start, put me on a beginner's trail to get me finding my feet, just before I let it all go on the 60 ft dunes. Loads of fun. Just a word of advice-take sunglasses! I had mine eaten by the puppy lately and never got new ones.  It's not the sun, but the sand that gets in the way...learn from others mistakes and even steal your mother's if you have to!

Second big thanks goes out to the folks at Blue Rock Cable Ski guys out at Somerset wes. Called them at short notice and they made a huge effort to make a awesome day for myself and my guests from the Escape times section from the Cape Times. We had a great time at the dam and tried all that they had to offer (within sanity anyway). Started off with the knee boards to get the feels of the cable and the corners. Once we got around the first corner (after the 3rd try) we then decided that a professional wake board would be a lot easier.... I think the furthest anyone got was about 4m and that was not including the few metres of drag while u try to figure out how to let go of the cable :)

With the wind about now that its Jan, I recommend that you do anything and everything nice and early in the morning.

But try everything at least once and make sure you enjoy it!!!! Don't live with regrets...

And, once again I apologise that the site is not as full as it should be. I am working around the clock to get the companies all in ASAP. Anything you would like to do, that you see as a possibility and the full details are not yet in, just email me and I'll give you all the details necessary.

Thank you for your patience.

Steve

Bad weather

Hi all,

The weather in the cape has taken a turn for the worse. The only thing I can recommend is to travel slightly out of the mother city for all your excitement. It is still whale season in Hermanus and the shark diving is wonderful in that area. If you prefer something a little more tranquil, then the horse riding is just the thing for you.

But worry not, for summer will be here soon and the games will begin properly.

Rocking the daisies

Hello all,

Welcome to Absolute Adventures! The site is still in its developmental stages and is coming along slowly, but surely. I thank you for your patience.

On a more positive note, the launch at rocking the daisies was a blast. We had great support and love from all and we are feeling excited about the future. We are recruiting new companies on a daily basis and trying to get them loaded as soon as we can.

If there is anything you would like to do, but it's not up yet, please just drop a email through and it will be arranged. If you know anyone who takes people on cool trips, please send me their details or them ours and we will gladly add them to the family!

Have a good one. And remember, "behave, and if you dont, please record it!"

Steve
