Cape Town Safari Full Day Tour

Get up close and personal with Africa’s famous Big Five and other wild animals on this Full Day Safari Tour, a two and a half hour drive from Cape Town. As the Game Reserve is situated in the Western Cape, you will not need to worry about the risk of malaria. Enjoy some of the Cape’s most unique flora and fauna, beautiful landscapes and wildlife all in one day! The elephants and lions have all been rescued by the team at the reserve, after encountering a virtual wipe out due to settlement and agricultural development.

Day trip visitors enjoy an almost three-hour game drive across the 10 000 ha game reserve in an open safari vehicle in search of the Big 5.

As you enter the reserve you may encounter a herd of Red Lechwe before dipping down towards the lions’ reserve. You will be blown away by the majestic beauty of the male Cape Barbary lion. A rare specimen, this breed is noticeable for its extraordinarily large black mane.

From thereon you will encounter an endless number of antelope species ranging from the beautifully marked Oryx; its less attractive, yet still fascinating, cousin the wildebeest; eland, the largest antelope in Africa and the nation’s pride, the springbok. You will be greeted by herds of zebra as they momentarily raise their heads to see who you are before returning to their grazing or you might come across the threatened rhino with its horn intact.

Lunch at the Safari Lodge

Three-hours on a dusty cape safari day tour game drive will surely build up your appetite. On returning to the lodge, a staff member will be waiting to offer you a cool, clean cloth to wipe away the dust of the game drive before a delicious three-course, buffet lunch is served. Summertime in the Karoo is characterised by clear, sunny days so lunch will most likely be served beneath the Eucalyptus tree alongside the succulent garden.

The restaurant offers good, wholesome South African cooking with a twist of French sophistication. All meals are prepared with only the freshest, seasonal produce, sourced directly from local farms.
