Description
Kloofing Suicide Gorge
Kloofing, otherwise known as canyoning, is an adrenaline-filled Western Cape experience. It involves getting yourself down a river gorge; one that is fast-flowing, but with too little water for kayaking. Boulder hopping, wading, swimming, climbing, sliding down natural slides and jumping off cliffs from 3-14 metres high is what you will be doing. This is a full day of great fun and extreme adventure over an 16.2 km course which takes place at Suicide Gorge in the Hottentots Mountains just outside of Cape Town.
CAUTION!
Kloofing at Suicide Gorge is one of our most extreme activities!
It is a long day from leaving Cape Town at approximately 05:45 to returning home as late as 20:00.
You must be fit enough to hike 16km and be able to swim, as it involves hours of hiking and swimming!
You will need prior cliff jumping experience as the jumps range from 3-14m, with 7m being the highest that you will HAVE TO jump as climbing down is more dangerous.
So if you’re fit, over 16, not afraid of jumping from 7 meters into a rock pool and are ready for the challenge, then you’re in for a beautiful day of adventure. Bring along a waterproof camera, you’ll want to cherish these memories!
